To think well and clearly

Sociologist Clifford Nass once described critical thinking as “the ability to think well and clearly.”  For all the in-depth technical definitions that exist, I have to admit that this simple description is one of my favorites.  This afternoon I’m traveling to Vancouver Island to present a full-day Professional Development seminar on Friday on the subject of critical thinking.  I’m hoping to post an audio recording of the seminar (if technical difficulties don’t get in the way), but for now, here’s a PDF file of the handout I plan to give the teachers who attend.
